CAD Systems nv is a family-run company that started 20 years ago under the name
New Interdata nv. In 1985 the company started with CAD-applications. After a few
years this became the main activity, after which the name of the company was
changed to CAD Systems in 1988.
Keeping a good relation with our customers, for us, is just as important as making
a profit.
CAD Systems already chose AutoCAD as base software long before it became the
worldleader in CAD.
Our main objectives for developing software are:
user-friendly software
the efficiency of the user
after-sale customer service and support
In spite of the size of the software package Parabuild, we have been able to keep
our company relatively small. This is possible because of the following factors:
CAD Systems concentrates itself for development on Parabuild only. As a service we
also sell AutoCAD.
On as many different fronts as possible, we distribute our work to other companies.
This way we can concentrate on the core of Parabuild. The fact that Parabuild is an
AutoCAD application is already a perfect example of this: the company Autodesk
provides a lot of functionalities that CAD Systems doesn't have to provide: the
graphical engine, the basic drawing-interface, the printing interface, ...
We strongly believe that this way of working is necessary in the future. The
demands of the users of applications is increasing every day, and as a result
applications always keep evolving. At a certain point the application becomes
too complex to be handled by one team. The project has to be divided so that
different teams in possibly other companies can concentrate on and specialize
in smaller projects. We decided to focus on the structural steel sector.
