This dialog box allows us to change which properties will cause a different number for parts.

This means that for all the properties listed here, if the parts are geometrically exact, but their property values are still different, then the parts will still receive a different part number.

The consequence is that 2 parts with different steel grades will not appear together on the same shop drawing or on the bills of materials, which is important to avoid mistakes in the shop.

The default is that only the material property causes a number-change.
The other properties that can be added to this list are : 

  • Material (In Parabuild, the steel material name includes the steel grade)
  • Phase
  • Structure group
  • Finishing
  • Paint (paint instruction for the shop)
  • Remark
  • Manufacturer
  • Product code
  • Object color (the intrinsic color of the part's material)
